About Us
Welcome to ExplorerPatcher.org, the official home of ExplorerPatcher. We believe Windows users deserve flexibility, familiarity, and control over their desktop experience and our mission is to bring those back.
Our Mission
At ExplorerPatcher, our goal is simple yet meaningful: to bridge the gap between Windows 10 and Windows 11—giving users the power to restore beloved UI features while retaining the benefits of modern Windows. Whether you’re frustrated by Microsoft’s redesigned taskbar, the simplified Start menu, or the stripped-down File Explorer, our tool helps you tailor your system to match your workflow and tastes.
Who We Are
ExplorerPatcher is an open-source project led by a dedicated developer community (originally started by valinet). We value transparency, collaboration, and user feedback. Every release, feature request, or bug fix is driven by real user needs—and available for peer review.
What We Offer
- Classic Taskbar Restoration: Bring back Windows 10–style taskbar behavior, including ungrouped icons, labels, and position flexibility.
- Start Menu Options: Toggle between Windows 11’s modern menu and classic Windows 10 style.
- Explorer Enhancements: Restore the original ribbon interface, tweak the navigation pane, adjust title bars, and more.
- Context Menu Customization: Revert the simplified new context menu to the full legacy version, skipping the extra “Show more options” step.
- System Tray & UI Tweaks: Fine-tune icon visibility, system tray layout, and transparency settings.
- Lightweight & Safe: ExplorerPatcher injects code only where needed—it doesn’t replace system files. And as open-source software, its code is open for review and improvement.
Why Choose ExplorerPatcher?
- Familiar Environment: If you loved Windows 10’s UI, you don’t have to relearn everything on Windows 11.
- Free & Open Source: No paywalls, no hidden costs. The source code is publicly available and community-audited.
- Low Resource Footprint: It’s designed to be efficient and unobtrusive.
- Responsive Updates & Support: We strive to keep compatible with the latest Windows patches. Our community helps with testing, bug reports, and feature suggestions.
Our Commitment
We believe in user choice, not imposed design. ExplorerPatcher will continue being free, safe, and user-driven. As Microsoft evolves Windows, we’ll evolve too so your system remains customizable, intuitive, and under your control.
Thank you for trusting ExplorerPatcher to restore the experience you love. If you’d like to get involved by reporting bugs, contributing code, or suggesting features visit our GitHub page or contact us.
